Reading Pictograms #
The key says what one symbol is worth.
A pictogram counts with symbols, and the key tells you what each symbol is worth
Count the symbols: 4 apples, 6 pears, 3 plums. The key says each stands for 1.
The longest row is pears, so pears has the biggest count.
Now the key says 2. Three apple symbols mean 6 apples, not 3.
Count the symbols first, then multiply: 5 symbols of 2 is 10 pears.
